While the temperatures are dropping (mostly just in the morning and evenings) there’s still plenty of warm and sunny daylight to enjoy some wonderful activities this Fall and Winter. Check out our favorite activities and adventure to do this Autumn and Winter:

1. Capitola Village Halloween Parade: Sunday, October 27th from 2-3pm

Ghosts, goblins, boys and ghouls…join us for the annual Capitola Village Halloween Parade! Line up begins at 1:30pm in the Beach & Village Parking Lot above Capitola City Hall. Parade begins promptly at 2pm. Parade will head down Capitola Avenue, wind through Capitola Village to the Esplanade ending at Esplanade Park, where trick-or-treat bags, balloons, and refreshments will be waiting. New Leaf Community Market will be there with treats! Trick-or-treating at Capitola Village shops following parade.

2. 3rd Capitola Village Sip and Stroll – November 9th

Capitola Village and Wharf Business Improvement Area will be holding a Sip and Stroll on November 9th, 2019. We will have approximately 20 wineries and breweries participating in our event.

3. “100 Things to do in Santa Cruz before you Die” Book Released on October 15th!

That’s right! Your friends at Beach House Rentals in Capitola Village wrote a book! Our book launched on October 15th and you can purchase it HERE!

4. Visit a Pumpkin Patch up the Coast!

Check out our list of pumpkin patches we love in Capitola, Santa Cruz and beyond! Click here!

5. Visit the Monarch Butterflies at Natural Bridges State Park

Every Fall until January, the Monarch Butterflies migrate to their eucalyptus grove sanctuary at Natural Bridges State Beach, which is the only State Monarch Preserve in California. Starting in early October, the black and orange beauties start trickling in from colder climates to enjoy our moderate coastal weather. Scientifically speaking, monarchs are tropical butterflies and at no point in their life cycle – egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly – can they freeze, so they move with the warmer weather while migrating south. It’s a phenomenal site to experience and learn about on the trail walk through the trees!

6. Apple picking and Pie eating at Gizdich Ranch!

Another Fall favorite is going up to Gizdich Ranch near Watsonville and picking apples in their orchard and picking up a pie to eat for later! Click here for more information!

7. Cheer on the Santa Cruz Warriors at Kaiser Permanent Arena

You must check out the exciting, family-friendly Santa Cruz Warriors games this Fall and Winter! Every seat is a great seat to cheer on your local minor-league team. Check out their schedule and get your tickets here!

8. Enjoy a concert from the Santa Cruz Symphony

Head on down to Downtown Santa Cruz at the Civic Auditorium for a beautiful performance from any of the musicians. The season lasts all Fall, Winter and Spring, so there are many opportunities to experience the joy of these sounds. Check out their schedule and get your tickets ahead of time here!
