What Are the Six Sisters You May Ask?

Capitola Village early 1900s The historical Six Sisters are landmark townhomes located in the center of Capitola Village, across from Capitola Beach. They were originally built around the turn of the 20th Century and designed by architect Edward Van Cleeck. There were no lawns in front of the Six Sisters at that time and instead a trolley line ran right past the front of the homes, taking passengers from Capitola to Santa Cruz.

The lawn area was created in 1925 when the Esplanade was curved out onto the beach.  Learn more about the early history of the Six Sisters and Capitola on the Capitola Museum’s website. You can also stop by the museum at 410 Capitola Ave during your upcoming stay. This home has a lot of great history that you’ll surely find interesting.
